Science Fiction Museum

Downtown Seattle is home to the very geek friendly Science Fiction Museum, filled with every sci fi movie and book imaginable, from original Star Trek costumes to a Terminator skull to full size Ninja Turtles to all the Star Wars Light sabers, I felt like a kid in a candy store. “Oh man, look at this! Oh wow, look at that!”

Unfortunately photos were not allowed inside, but here are a few pic1 pic2 pic3 from their website.

Almost as amazing as the actual museum, is the building itself, designed by the legendary architect Frank Gehry. I tried taking dozens of pictures, and I could never quite seem to capture it, the building is beyond words. Here are a few pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 from my Flickr gallery and here is a hi-res pic from Wikipedia.

There are a pretty good documentary made in 2005 about the life of Frank Gehry (here’s the trailer), if you are at all interested in architecture, it’s worth the watch.
