Olympic Torch and Anti-China Protests In London

The Olympic Torch relay came to London this weekend, which is hosting the next Olympics in 2012. But rather than the traditional welcome, it was greeted by anti-China protests, people upset with China’s unfair treatment of Tibet.
Tension between China and Tibet has been growing in past weeks, with many Tibetan protests throughout the world. One organization at today’s London protest, FreeTibet.org, vows to free Tibet from China’s control, “Free Tibet Campaign stands for the Tibetans’ right to determine their own future. It campaigns for an end to China’s occupation of Tibet and for the Tibetans’ fundamental human rights to be respected.”
